The Information Technology department manages all the IT aspects of IDIBELL and provides support and advice to its researchers and the different support units.
The mission of the department is to support institutional management to achieve its objectives with adequate, safe, efficient and innovative technology, always seeking to satisfy the requirements of the different processes of the Institution, based on a philosophy of responsibility, quality and confidentiality. Its objective is to achieve the best possible service for users, in terms of support and administration of the technological infrastructure of the research center.
About the role
The successful candidate will join the Systems Unit in the Information Technologies Department.
Within the Systems Unit, will provide support to the management of the IDIBELL informatics structure, bearing responsibility for:
Ensure the operational stability, security and efficiency of the centre infrastructure.
Ensure the security of data: privacy, access and confidentiality.
Configuration, installation, update and solving issues of servers related with IT services.
Cluster of server management (Vmware).
Disk cabins management (NetAPP).
Palo Alto firewall management.
Management and administration of the different storage systems.
User support registration maintenance and creation.
Support the administration of Linux/Unix systems.
Management of the HPC cluster.
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a research/university/hospital environment
Education and training
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge in the current systems of the centre (Vmware, Netapp, Commvault, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Palo Alto).
Knowledge of bash scripting Python or PHP
Experience in Linux/Unix System administration.
Experience with containerization and virtualization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, ...)
HPC management experience.
Good command of the English language
